FAQ’S

1. How long does the treatment take?

It can vary from one person to another. Treatment such as smoking cessation normally takes 2 sessions, but this depends on the case history.

Issues such as anxiety, phobias, stress and confidence can be effectively dealt with in anywhere from 3 – 5 sessions, again depending upon the case history. After we have cleared your problem, we may need to introduce new positive skills, beliefs and behaviours to your subconscious mind, but this normally can be achieved within the 3-5 sessions.

2. Why do you offer a 3-5 session programme?

Clients enjoy greater and more long lasting success when they commit to a programme of sessions, this is because although you may see rapid improvement, like many of my clients (see testimonials), further sessions are important to build confidence and consolidate the positive change you will experience. The first session with me is 90 minutes long and a thorough case history will be taken, to ensure that the sessions are tailored individually to you and your issues. Subsequent sessions are one hour long.

3. How much do the sessions cost?

Sessions are affordable, but it is best to contact Maria to discuss your needs and the fees involved, because they vary according to the issue. Smoking cessation for example is a set package and a set price, whereas individual sessions for most issues are paid per hour. Unlike counselling and some other therapies, you do no always need to come weekly for sessions, and in fact for some issues, like weight loss it is better to spread the sessions over a period of time so that you can experience the changes taking place and try out the ideas and feedback to Maria.

4. I am a bit nervous about hypnotherapy after watching it on the television- is it the same thing?

Yes and No! I am using similar skills but what you see on the television is for entertainment purposes! You will not start barking like a dog, or clucking like a chicken! My skills are used therapeutically, ethically and with the intention of helping you achieve your outcomes. You will be in control at all times. You will be able to fully communicate with me, to move, and you won’t be asleep. It is a very relaxing and usually enjoyable experience.
